Geraldine Van Bibber was first elected to the Yukon Legislative Assembly in the general election for the 34th Legislative Assembly on November 7, 2016, and re-elected in the 2021 general election.

Ms. Van Bibber serves as the Opposition critic for Economic Development, Tourism and Culture, the Yukon Energy Corporation, and the Yukon Development Corporation. 

Van Bibber is a Member of the Order of Canada, the former commissioner of Yukon (2005-2010), and the former Administrator of Yukon (2001-2005). She served as the Senior Community Advisor to Premier Darrell Pasloski in the Yukon government Cabinet Office and formerly served as the Chancellor of Yukon College.

In addition, she has worked in the Yukon Department of Finance, was a business partner in a family tourism company, and was instrumental in the formation of the Yukon First Nations Culture and Tourism Association.

Geraldine has sat on far too many boards and committees to name them all, but a few highlights include board member of the Canadian Tourism Commission, Vice-Chair of Aboriginal Tourism Canada, and the Arctic Inspiration Prize. She was also a selection committee member for the Arctic Inspiration Prize.
